Aubenas in the Ardèche: where the south of the Vivarois region meets the north of the Cévennes region

Aubenas is the flagship town in the south of the department, on the banks of the Ardèche river. It is the main town in the Aubenas Basin Community of Communes, with a population of over 40,000, south of the Ecrinet pass, which marks the boundary between the Vivarais and the Cévennes.
