Situated in the far west of the Ardèche, on the border between the Occitanie region and the Lozère département, the commune of Saint-Etienne-de-Lugdarès has a tourist information point during the summer months, the Maison du Tourisme.

Located in the Place du Jumelage in the heart of the village, the Maison du Tourisme is open to the public mainly during the summer season, from 15 June to 15 September, with specially adapted opening times.

The receptionist on site will provide all the information you need to organise your stay: accommodation, restaurants, outdoor activities, local heritage, events, hiking and mountain biking routes, etc.

This tourist information point also offers personalised suggestions based on your wishes and interests, as well as a booking service for certain activities or guided tours in conjunction with theMontagne d’Ardèche tourist office, of which it is a part.

Tourism at Saint-Etienne-de-Lugdarès in the Ardèche

Saint-Étienne-de-Lugdarès is a gateway to the Montagne d’Ardèche, an authentic region situated at an altitude of over 1,500 m with Mont-Mézenc and Gerbier-de-Jonc, between Haute-Loire and Lozère, renowned for its volcanic landscapes, forests, rivers, hiking trails and snowy winters.

The region is ideal for nature lovers and outdoor sports enthusiasts (hiking, mountain biking, Nordic skiing, snowshoeing), as well as those interested in its architectural heritage and local produce.

As you climb back up the valley of the Masméjan stream, the mountain grows and takes you to the Croix de Bauzon ski resort, the Montat pass, the Chavade Bel-Air cross-country ski area and the Col de la Chavade, which joins the Route Nationale 102 to Aubenas and Le Puy.

Heading west downhill, you’ll reach the Allier valley, and about twenty minutes away, the Naussac lake with the town of Langogne in Lozère.

The Lozère and Altigérien plateaux, lakes, rivers and streams, the Ardèche mountains – a unique and varied landscape awaits you.
