Annonay-Rhône Agglo ?

Since the beginning of 2017, the Annonay conurbation, the Vivarhone community of communes and several communes in the Val-d’Ay have formed a single authority.

Situated between the Vivarais mountains and the Rhône river in the Ardèche department of the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region, the Annonay Rhône Agglo area is ideally located just a stone’s throw from the Rhône valley towards Lyon in the north, Valence in the south and at the foot of the Pilat regional nature park towards Saint-Etienne.

As well as its geographical assets, the region also boasts a thriving cultural and industrial history, which has focused on innovation for several centuries, and a heritage that is unique in the Ardèche, combining tradition and modernity.

50 years of history in just a few minutes

Administratively, this area corresponds to the Annonay-Rhône Agglo, a new local authority created in 2017 from the merger of the VivaRhône community of municipalities and the Annonay Agglo conurbation community.

Annonay Rhône Agglo is now a conurbation stretching from the gateway to Pilat to the banks of the Rhône, between the rivers Cance, Deûme and Limony.

At the heart of this conurbation is the town of Annonay, the largest commune in the Ardèche department and the main urban centre of Annonay-Rhône.
