Welcome to the Joyeuse Escale festival in the Ardèche! Organised by webradio Allô la Planète*, this festive and friendly cultural event is the Ardèche’s first travel and adventure festival.
For its 5th edition from 12 to 17 May 2026 between the Cévennes and Vivarais in the commune of Joyeuse, the festival celebrates all the possibilities of travel and the exploration of multiple horizons.
An invitation to travel
Come and dream and travel for 5 days, discovering new cultures, destinations and adventures through 23 films, 37 screenings, around 20authors and artists, 7 photo exhibitions, 5 concerts, conferences, photographic exhibitions, workshops, round tables and meetings with passionate travellers. It’s a complete immersion in the world of travel, a chance to get inspired for future adventures, and a festive atmosphere with shows and concerts.

A number of venues, including Salle de la Grand Font, Salle de la Peyre, le Châtrau, Salle Gerbaud, crêperie le Colibri, Square François André and Jary Loisirs, offer a range of activities:
Captivating conferences
Explore the various ways of travelling through talks given by travellers with eclectic backgrounds, sharing their stories of journeys, their advice and their experiences of itinerancy on subjects such as nomadism, cyclonomadism, animals and the living through travel, the ecology of travel and much more.
Inspiring films and exhibitions
Browse through themed exhibitions that transport you to different worlds, inviting you to explore distant cultures and destinations:
Portraits of the World, Schools at the End of the World, Bivouacs Around the World, Travelling by Bike and by a Thousand Routes, as well as around thirty film screenings followed by meetings with the film crews and directors.
Meetings and exchanges
Talk to passionate travellers and forge links with other explorers at this not-to-be-missed event for travel enthusiasts. You’ll have the chance to meet and chat with authors, cartoonists and film-makers, and take part in book-signing sessions.
Creative and wellness workshops
Let your imagination run wild in artistic workshops such as travel journal creation, intuitive writing, intergenerational writing, an introduction to photography, as well as seated massage and yoga workshops.
Evenings and concerts
Enjoy the show and the sounds of a mix of musical styles: blues, rock, folk, soul.
Where is Joyeuse in the Ardèche?
Joyeuse is nestled in the southern Ardèche in the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region between the Tanargue massif and the Ardèche gorges, around 20 kilometres south of Aubenas.
Coming to Joyeuse is also an opportunity to take the time to stroll through the pretty little streets and squares of the village, admire the medieval town and its castle, walk nearby on one of the many footpaths or stroll along the department’s greenways.
